Madar International School organizes an annual interschool sporting event called the “Madarathon.” This sporting event is a community staple that involves many private schools around the city of Al Ain. The importance of holding this sporting event in which many schools participate is the comradery it brings among participating schools. The event involves parents, teachers, students, community partners and prominent members of our community. The students get to spend a day of fun under the sun, where they get to exercise, improve physical fitness, and raise awareness of the importance of sport and its role in preventing health risks.
Madarathon 2020, the Seventh Madarathon was a great success with a large participation of more than 400 male and female students from 52 schools in Al Ain, at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club. The event was of great importance, and the last major sporting event MADAR International Students participated on before the pandemic.
This seventh version included special competitions for people of determination, which we plan to continue in the coming years as events like these are once again possible. This annual event is one of the most important priorities of the school administration, due to the great effects of sport on the body, soul and mind, which achieves the educational and non-curricular aspects of education and enhances the students’ abilities and achievement potential and is positively reflected on the level of educational achievement to the ethical side.
